Welcome to Aldo’s Allowance Academy
A hands-on, screen-free allowance system that becomes part of your family's rhythm- teaching real money habits through everyday moments. Made for ages 6-14.
Money skills aren’t taught the way they should be—and it shows. After over a decade of managing teens in their first jobs at Barnard General Store, I’ve seen the same problems again and again:
-
They don’t know how to count change
-
They can’t calculate simple percentages
-
They’re shocked when taxes come out of their paychecks
-
They don't know how to write checks
-
They lack so many other financial fundamentals
I wanted something better for my own kids. Something real. Something that would grow with them. When I couldn’t find it—I built it. That’s how Aldo’s Allowance Academy was born.

About the Creator
Hi, I’m Jillian—store owner, employer, mom of 2, and now curriculum designer.
For over a decade, I’ve hired and trained teens through their first jobs—and it became clear early on: schools aren’t teaching the financial skills kids truly need. I was determined to change that for my own children. But when I searched for an allowance system that actually prepares kids for real-world money decisions, I found nothing but gimmicks. I wanted skills.
So, I built Aldo’s Allowance Academy—a printable system that grows with your child, from kindergarten to their first paycheck.
